It all started with us - a group of friends and teammates who shared a passion for pickleball. Week after week, we would gather on the courts, eager to play the game we loved. With our cheerleaders and mascot attending every match. However, as the matches unfolded, we realized that something was missing – the thrill of true competition.
Some matches ended in mere minutes, leaving us feeling unsatisfied, while others were so lopsided that the outcome was never in doubt. Yet, through it all, our love for the sport and the camaraderie with we shared with our opponents kept us coming back, to play and of course to socialize Après Pickleball week after week.
One night, after a particularly dominant match, we gathered for dinner at our local spot and the conversation turned filling a void of matching appropriate skill level to play and incorporating the team aspect we love to be social. What better way to evaluate skill than the Dynamic Universal Pickleball Ratings (DUPR) to properly align skill levels. Of course, being competitive, the idea of the ultimate champion where players could earn bragging rights and perhaps even a prize, ignited our enthusiasm. With the ball in play, we turned our conversations to resolving work schedules, travel schedules, and supporting the family 1st mentality.
We than imagined a league we would all want to play in and feel valuable to the team at any skill level, on any line.

Fueled by our desire for fair and competitive matches, and to put family 1st, we decided to take advantage of our team member's expansive background volunteering and playing in multiple sports leagues, clubs, and associations over the past two decades. Teammates began to poll fellow players and facility directors on the idea. Happily, the response was overwhelmingly positive and Supreme Court Pickleball was founded.
With a shared vision, community support, and unwavering determination, we launched Supreme Court Pickleball with original League Ambassadors: Judy Lueders, Cameron Nash, and Clay Freed. We continued to have apprehensions about fielding even four or five teams to form a single bracket and solid round robin experience but went for the shot!!
To our surprise and delight, the first session of play saw an incredible turnout, with 20 facilities and 24 teams participating. The community is buzzing and alive with the energy of friendly rivalry and our pursuit of a supreme pickleball excellence. We became a DUPR partner a National Team Pickleball League and a Minor League Pickleball affiliate, to further promote the growth of pickleball and our thriving community.

What began as a group of friends out to dinner has blossomed into our thriving league focusing on community inclusion, relationships, sportsmanship, and our shared love for the game. Supreme Court Pickleball is a testament to the power of passion and the pursuit of excellence, one rally at a time.
